Urdaneta City University earned global recognition after being named Rank 1 worldwide under Category A2: Student Mobility and Openness during the 2026 WURI (World University Rankings for Innovation) Global Conference held on September 23 at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology in Deggendorf, Germany.
UCU was among the 10 higher education institutions worldwide recognized and congratulated for achieving the top rank in their respective categories during the global conference, which runs from September 23 to 25, 2026.
The recognition was received by Acting University President Dr. Amihan April C. Mella-Alcazar, together with Chief Operating Offcer Atty. Dar A. Diga and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Josephine S. Lambinicio. Joining the university delegation were Dr. Sonny Soriano, Director for External Affairs and Linkages; Dr. Mara G. Pelaez, Acting Director for the Center for Training and Professional Development; Dr. Jeffrey M. Caoile, Acting Head of the Internship and Tracer Studies Offce; and Prof. Maria Leonora O. Bustria-Muhammad, Program Head of the Social Work Department.
The achievement underscores UCU's commitment to student mobility, international engagement, innovation, and inclusive education, advancing SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through global partnerships, expanded student opportunities, and academic exchange.#
