
Urdaneta City University earned multiple recognitions at the CHED TIMPUYOG ti Amianan 2026: ASEAN Conference and Competitions, held on October 5–6 at the University of Northern Philippines in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
Timpuyog ti Amianan 2026: ASEAN Conference and Competitions brought together colleges and universities from the Ilocos Region (Region 1) for an ASEAN-themed conference featuring cultural activities and various student competitions.
UCU secured 2nd Runner-Up in the ASEAN Debate Cup, with Maine G. Paas, who was recognized among the Top 6 Best Speakers; Vallerie Kate D. Soriano, who was named among the Top 10 Best Speakers; and Sofia Angeleigh S. Dela Cruz. The University also earned 2nd Runner-Up in the ASEAN Culinary Showcase: Ube Reimagined, represented by John Michael N. Eubra and Ian Pablo M. Valdez.
Meanwhile, UCUians also represented the University in other competitions. Kenneth Clyde T. Galleguez and Anikha Yesha P. Ojano were named finalists in the ASEAN Duet Singing Competition, while Carlos B. Gutierrez and Syrelle Faye J. Rivera were finalists in the ASEAN Friendship Ambassador Competition.
The University’s participation and achievements in the event are part of its continuing commitment, under the leadership of UCU Chairman of the Board of Regents and Urdaneta City Mayor Julio “Rammy” F. Parayno III, to provide students with opportunities that develop their skills, broaden their perspectives, and prepare them for meaningful engagement beyond the classroom.
